8 weeks!!!

Ok finally i had my much awaited checkup with the OB-Gyne (it was postponed like 3 times already due to stormy weather). She told me that i'm already 8 weeks pregnant according to my sonogram ^__^...

I was told of course that i should eat healthy now, but my question is about COFFEE... answer? I can put a pinch of coffee granules in my milk... T_T

PINKEYE WTF!!!

Last night when i started teaching.. my eyes were ok (or i just thought so). Since my bangs have grown too long and always falling to my eyes... there were times that i was rubbing my right eye. Then, my last student for the night, Frank, suddeny told me that my right eye is a bit reddish. I just ignored it and said that it might have gotten sort of irritated due to my bangs.

After class, i was busy reading BSJ's diary english translations while getting uncomfortable with my right eye because it feels like there were grains in the underside of my lid. So after reading the diary entries i decided to sleep already coz its past 2am.

The next morning... boom! My right eye has become swollen and bloodshot red! Ok, first step, clean my eyes... next warm compress... next... next... wtf! there's no more next step coz i don't know if i am allowed to use eye drops or ointments in my current condition...

I know most conjunctivitis subsides by itself in a few days, but i'm worried about passing the infection to Gab because he hasn't experienced eye infections before. So hubby and I decided to call up his mom and ask if Gab can stay in their house for sometime until my pinkeye vanishes.

I haven't been in this house alone ever since we moved in here. I don't know how am I gonna spend my afternoon and night time tomorrow until hubby comes home.. T_T

It's been 2 weeks already i guess since i made my last post... am i gonna go down into hibernation again? CULPRIT: Playful Kiss Kdrama!!! ♥ hahahaha

Anyway, last September 18, 2010 we had our TKA Villa meet for Mei-unni's birthday. I slept! damn! when i woke up it's past 11pm already so i hurriedly when to our chatango.. luckily there were still some ladies chatting but no Mei could be seen (guess went out on a date! yatta!). I really had fun chatting with them 'till almost 3am hehehe. It's really been a long time since many members come to the Villa to chat and of course wait for the subbed TKA videos to come out. I guess it's beem 2 years already. Now, we mostly drop by to say hi-hello and extend our undying love and support to ARJOE and to catch up with other ladies life/love stories.

But... i guess i got into a trap that i made my own self! sucks! haha! seriously.... will there be an ISWAK 3 or even an ISWAK movie???

*i don't wanna search for infos... hahaha i'm damn nervous!*

My husband came home from Singapore job hunt last Tuesday. I can't deny the fact that i missed him and am happy that his back. But I can't deny the fact also that he needs to get a job already... coz it's Christmas season already! ^___^

Gab is happy too that Daddy's back because he has he's Gameboy buddy again..

Gab has been good in his lessons and teachers the whole week so Mommy is very happy. Tomorrow we will attend Mass and it will be the second time (hopefully) for Gab to attend a whole Mass. I plan to drop by the Sunday market also in the village and have lunch at Jollibee (if Gab will be a good boy at Church).

It all started on August 13...

Teacher Divine: Gab, look i have a train. He's name is Percy.

Gab: *tries to grab it*

Teacher Divine: No grabbing Gab. *Plays with train*

Gab: *watching*

Teacher Divine: Look, the train is moving. It's making a sound.. CHOO-CHOO..

Gab: *looks at the teacher's face*

Teacher Divine: Train sounds... CHOO-CHOO..

Gab: CHOO-CHOO-CHOO..

Teacher Divine: That's very good train sound, Gab. *gives the train to Gab.*

I saw and heard everything that happened that day. I was so surprised to hear Gab imitate the sounds produce by another person. It made my heart so warm and my eyes teary. I was so proud of him.

after his ABA session that day, we constantly asked Gab to imitate different sounds to make him more familiar with sound imitation and responding. We started with train sound, then dog, then cat, then pig. the whole evening he was able to memorize the sounds of those animals.

A week after he started imitating and responding to requests for simple talks, he had his evaluation with Teacher Rena already and his therapy program was changed already. Teacher Rena commented to Gab "naku naiiyak naman ako sayo bebe, ang bilis ng progress mo!". Hearing those words, my hopes are really soaring high.

Just last week, i was training Gab to say "OPEN" first before i open something that he likes (like food). His tolerance now is very high, making all the efforts to imitate "OPEN" while watching my mouth positions.

Now, he can say functional words (though not yet polished) like "OPEN, EAT, DRINK, GIVE". Sometimes i have to provide verbal cues for him to talk, sometimes he says it already by himself ^_____^

New Chapter...

It's been 5 days already since we moved out of my parents house again. We packed and moved ur stuffs last Sunday and planned to stay in the new apartment already, but ended up sleeping at my parents house because Gab doesn't want to stay in the apartment yet (maybe because everything's a mess).

Monday was sooooo tiresome because me and my husband alone had to arrange all the stuffs we brought to the new apartment. Since it's a 2-floor crib, running up and down the stairs many times to move things was quite a challenge, especially since i grew up in a house that doesn't have any stairs at all! Thank God that before it got dark we have finished arranging all of our stuffs.

When my mom's maids came to the apartment with Gab, I have already anticipated that he would scream and would not want to come inside the house. So, I really prepared the TV and DVD player with Barney's dvd to attract Gab's attention and showed him that all his toys are inside so that he would feel at home. It worked!!! ^____^

I felt relieved to see that Gab easily got used to the new apartment. Before, i was worried that his sleep will be less because he will feel uneasy with the new environment and throw tantrums during his homebased ABA classes. I was amazed at how fast he adapts now to changes unlike before. Even his ABA teacher said that she was not expecting Gab to be behave and compliant in the next few weeks because he might have difficulty adjusting to the house. But we have both underestimated at how much progress Gab has now.

Living on our own again is not scary for me already since we have done that already last year. But the one thing that makes me scared now is that in a few days my husband will be leaving us to work in Singapore.

So, it will literally be like "living on my own (me and Gab)". This is now something that I have to get used to. How i wish i have Gab's ability to easily adapt to changes.... ='(

As promised, my husband replaced the watch that i lost several weeks back. We waited for the Great Northern Sale at SM City North Edsa, hoping to get a watch at 50-70% off.... LOL i wish! But anyway, i already told my husband that he can only spend 4,000 pesos for my watch (almost same price of the watch i lost). I really needed to wear a watch most of the time because Gab keeps a daily schedule.

Sale Day Friday...

We went to SM last Friday to let Gab experience the busy and crowded atmosphere in a mall that is on sale. Gab hasn't played in a paid play-area inside malls for more than a year already because of some unknown reason he doesn't want to enter those areas suddenly. That day, we were surprised because Gab was the one who insisted to enter one of the play areas inside SM Cybezone. It think he played for about 3 hours there!

So while Gab and his yaya were enjoying at the play area, Mark and I hurried to SM Dept. Store to check what were on sale and grab the toiletries and luggag

e necessities that Mark will need for his trip.

Sale Day Saturday...

After Gab's speech therapy lesson, we went to my in-laws house to spend the weekend. Also, part of the plan is to go to Day 2 of the sale with only me and Mark because he needs to buy some dress clothes that he will bring to Singapore and check on the watches that are on sale.

The waiting line for the fitting rooms were like opening day at the cinema, so Mark decided not to fit the pants that he will be buying.

After buying pants, we bought some other stuffs that Mark needs then headed to the watches area inside the department store. To my dismay, most of the watches that i had my eyes on were only on sale at 15% off the tag! Mark insisted that i checked on the others also that were not on sale anyway he has money to spare. But i wanted to stick on my 4,000pesos deal. At the end, we didn't buy any. We just went to Sky

Garden and ate dinner at Ineng's and grab a frappuccino at Starbucks for my sis-in-law.

Sale Day Sunday...

It's the last day of the Great Northern Sale. My husband had to go back to SM because the dress pants that we bought doesn't fit him well... too tight lol! He asked me if i wanna go with him to give my plan-to-buy-a-watch a last chance. I refused to go and just told him to get something nice for me.

He came back after 3 hours with this...

... At the end of the The Great Northern Sale... me, Gab, and Mark were happy ^___^

A Package from Sally ♥♥♥

Yesterday, i got a notice from the post office to pick up a package that was sent to me... i instantly thought "oh, i've been waiting for this from Sally!".

Sally has been one of my first 10 students since i started working as a online English teacher. We really got along very well because we share the same likes and our communication was pretty good because her English is excellent. She's not studying with me anymore because she had to stop online studies to concentrate on her upcoming university entrance exam (i pray she passes the exam without any problems).

The last time that we chatted on skype was the day that i was starting to teach again at home. I remembered her line "oh finally, i was waiting for you!". Maybe she was checking the past days if i was online to ask for my address. We had a great chat like old friends catching up with each others happenings.

Anyway, i have uploaded some pics of what's inside the package.... have a look..

Hi everyone! gosh i've been busy the past weeks... getting a new DSL and starting to teach again some of my students who were waiting for my comeback.

Gab is getting better and better in dealing with school environment. I guess he's used to it already. Today, i was the only one who went to school with Gab to check if he's gonna be fine with only me watching over him. It came out good. I don't really go inside the classroom many times anymore s as to slowly teach Gab to be independent with his own things and activities like getting his pencil case or crayons inside the bag, or dealing with his teacher.

It rained today, so i was a bit nervous about the internet connection. It was ok throughout my classes, just a few Skype errors (well, Skype is always like that!) and i accidentally kicked the internet wirings.

I got one more student back, Cindy. I missed teaching her, honestly. She's really fun to teach. plus the fact that we have some likes that are similar.

Gab, interrupted my class with Cindy because his getting sleepy already... i think he wants me to put him to sleep so he threw tantrums a little bit. But after that he went to sleep with my mom's help... i feel bad about it though coz i know he wants me to do it..

*sigh*sigh*sigh*

►►►GAB'S UPDATES: It's Fun @ School!!!

Today, Gab did wake up early and in a good mood. I already knew that he would do well at school. By the way, he was moved to afternoon class that will start at 1pm and end at 3pm.

We went to school together with Daddy.. something new for Gab because last week we went to school with Yaya.

Gab went down the tricyle.. then started screaming and crying!!! What happened??!! I actually didn't have any idea why he cried. So there we go again... outside the school gate... under the heat of the sun. Daddy was carrying Gab when he suggested that i buy Coke from the canteen to give to Gab as reward... if he will go inside school... it worked!!! Good thing we were at school 10 minutes early for those kinds of problems haha.

Now, our problem is how to get Gab go inside the classroom... class will start soon! I decided to hand my cellphone to Gab and told him that he can play game if he goes inside the room. He immediately accepted the phone, but... he didn't follow me inside the room!!! (playing tricks huh!). Ok, so i only have i one more weapon... v-tech's apple alphabet!!! (electronic talking alphabet board). Good thing that before we left for school, i already put the "apple" inside a separate bag and have Daddy bring the bag with him in case of "emergency power struggle" haha. Upon my cue, Daddy reached for the "on" button of the apple in the bag. It made a familiar greeting to Gab.... and.. ta-da!.. everything's under control now. Gab went inside the room upon my command.

Gab sat down quietly on his chair and just continued playing game. I just let him play for a while and looked around what the other kids were already doing. The activity was tracing curve lines. When most of the students have finished doing the activity and were falling in line to have their works checked, i decided to get the phone and ask Gab to finish the activity already. I thought he would get angry and scream, but he quietly finished the tracing activity with my help.

After finishing the tracing activity, Gab just sat down quietly and observed what other kids were doing. RECESS TIME! I thought Gab would go out because some kids went out the room to go to their parents. He had his snacks inside the room.

Ok, second half of the class.. coloring time. Teacher Alice introduced blue to the kids. While she was talking, Gab imitated her but he was talking jargons. I was amazed at how some of his jargons sounded like the teacher's words. Teacher handed out the paper that the kids will color with blue, Gab looked at it then compared the drawing on the paper with the cloud drawn by the teacher on the board. Gab did the coloring activity by himself, i just had to cue him to finish coloring the big cloud.

CLASS TIME FINISHED!!! GAB GOT 2 STARS FOR TRACING AND COLORING!!!

TIME SPENT INSIDE THE CLASSROOM: 1 hour and 40 minutes ^______^

An Inspiring Night... Ended By A Bad News...

A Skype chat...

When I opened my computer, I was already log-on in Skype. Roma sent me a link to a video about a highschool student who has autism but graduated salutatorian in his batch. His salutatory speech was very inspiring. It easily melted my heart and enkindled my hopes for Gab's bright future. Then Roma and I chatted about the book she told me a few months back about a family's journey with autism. Thank you.

A Facebook message...

Louise, an elementary and highschool friend, sent me a message through Facebook. She told me that she visited my blog and learned about Gab's condition. She said she admired my courage and that she's now one of Gab's Angels. Simple messages like that lifts up my spirit and continue our advocacy. Thank you.

A phone call...

My day is almost over when my husband called me up using an unknown number. He told me that his phone was robbed on his way to work. I actually don't even know what to say but for sure i suddenly felt disappointment. It's not his first time to lose something.. but anyway i can't blame him for what happened except for not trusting his instincts. The other problem was... it's my mom's phone that my older brother gave her. Maybe i'll just tell my mom tomorrow morning. *sigh*

►►►GAB'S UPDATES: It's A Whopping Fifteen Minutes!!!

Today's Gab's second day at nursery school... i wasn't expecting much especially when he woke up already in a bad mood. I decided that we will attend the 10am-12pm class no matter what, but first i had to think on how to change his mood. Last night i was chatting with Dianne and she mentioned using clay for therapy for the hand and fingers. Good that i have a set of n0n-toxic clay, Gab happily played with it, rolling and squeezing the clay. It helped him to relax.

Again at school.. we stood outside the classroom for some minutes.. but we were able to get inside earlier than yesterday. Gab sat down quietly in his chair... playing snowboarding on my cellphone.. occasionally looking at other kids making noise or looking at the teacher who's almost shouting because it's like a fish market just outside the room because of the parents constantly shouting commands at their kids.

While Gab was busy playing games, i checked on what writing activity other kids were doing... slanted lines. So i started making dotted slant lines for Gab to trace. I guided his left hand to make slanted lines while his other hand still holding the cellphone. After finishing 6 lines.... cellphone game again. Then he noticed the boy sitting in front of him, eating snacks already even though its not yet recess time. So Gab asked for his snacks also.

The teacher approached us and greeted Gab "good morning Gab! Are you going to study today?". Gab just stared at her for a moment and took the paper with a big banana drawing to be colored later and looked at it... then back to cellphone playing. After finishing his snacks, he was still asking for some more so i went outside the room to buy some chips in the school's cafeteria. When i went back to the classroom, Gab was already outside the room carried by his nanny.

TIME SPENT INSIDE THE CLASSROOM: 15 minutes!!! hooray!!! Good job Gab ^____^

P.S.: In the afternoon, he had his regular 2hrs session with his ABA teacher, then after that he helped me make pancakes =)

Today's Gab's first day in nursery school. I got up at 6am to prepare his breakfast, school bag, and uniform. I was in mix emotions pondering about what will Gab do at school. I felt excited and scared all at the same time hallucinating that Gab will behave and adjust easily or will scream out loud and throw tantrums at the site of a crowd of kids.

When Gab knew that he will be going out, he excitedly wore his new uniform and new pair of black shoes with the help of his nanny. We had no problems going to school, he even went down from the tricycle alone and walk towards the gate of the school.. then suddenly... he stopped right in front of the open gate of the school and turned back at started walking away! haha maybe he realized that "uh-oh i'm not familiar with this place!". So his nanny hurriedly carried him and ran going inside the school and Gab screamed... then... we stood outside the school gate for 1 hour!!!

I was observing Gab while we were standing outside the gate, noting how many minutes we are still going to stand there before i'll finally force him to go inside. But it was out of my plan since i don't want to cause any trauma to him of that place and i could see that he is scanning the inside of the school through the grills of gate, looking at anxious parents waiting for the start of the class for nursery and kids running around. I could sense that he is getting interested.

Finally, after an hour of stay outside the school gate, Gab cued that he's ready to go inside by reaching the gate grills. I smiled and told his nanny "it's ok to go inside now". We went inside the gate, Gab's still observing all people inside and peeking through the open door of the nursery classroom. I was getting annoyed at other mothers because they were crowding the classroom door so it's kinda hard for me to squeeze in while holding Gab so that i could show him what's happening inside the room.

Thanks to Mickey Mouse's number poster that caught Gab's attention because it gave me an idea that maybe he can actually go inside the classroom on his first day. And yes it did happen!!! Gab and i went inside the classroom and he went down, walked around the room looking at the ABCs and numbers posters. I asked the teacher where is Gab's table, she pointed at the corner leftmost table in front of the room. I guided Gab towards his table.. then.. he sat down.. look at the table.. saw nothing at the table.. nothing to do.. he stood and left the room.

It only spent more or less 20secs inside the room! But i was already happy to see him improve a lot in adjusting to places and crowd and noise. After that, Gab spent the remaining hour walking outside the room and running up and down the stairs.

►►► GAB'S UPDATES: I'm Going to Nursery School!!!

Last Wednesday, Gab's ABA teacher, T. Divine, advised me that it would be beneficial for Gab if he will enter nursery school or even a playgroup to get exposed to other regular kids of his age. Gab ever since has problems with socialization, or in kid's terms "playing along" with other kids. Often times, he seems not interested to play with other kids. Our neighborhood, made the situation worse because at home he's the only child and around the neighborhood there are no kids within his age range. His older cousin seldom visits our house, but Gab likes playing with her for the reason that he can make his cousin follow what he wants to do. So, it doesn't really help him learn new things.

At first, I thought of enrolling him in a SPED school, but after thinking about it many times, i decided not to continue with my first plan. My goal is mainly socialization and not academics as of now. For me, I think if he will enter a regular nursery class, he will be around regular kids who likes talking a lot and playing a lot. Maybe he could pick up or imitate some words and actions and behaviors exhibited by regular kids.

My expectations: Soon Gab will play, talk, sing, and do activities together with other kids. He won't be stressed anymore if he's in a crowded place. And, he will be more independent just like other kids.

My fears: He will ask me to carry him the whole time inside school during the first weeks (hahaha!). He will cry when irritated or bored during his first month at school T_T. And, he will get other kid's things and get into fight (LOL!).

♥ Gab's New Haircut ♥

Good-Bad Day...

Today's a GOOD-BAD day for me...

GOOD: I'm happy because Gab finally had a haircut in a different barbershop because the barbershop he usually has his hair done is too far from our house now since we moved back to my parents' house. Since its not sunny today, we decided to walk around the village to scout for a perfect barbershop. Gab's barbershop specifications: open ( really open as in no glass panels or glass doors!), has a television (so that he can forget about the haircut haha), along a busy road (so that he won't hear the razor sound), and NO WAITING TIME ( in short, not popular barberhsop lol). At first, Gab tried to resist but when the barber started razoring his hair, maybe he thought he can't escape anymore s he stopped crying and just insisted to be carried by his nanny during the whole time. Gab doesn't like the barber's cape, at the end of the hair-razor-cut session, he and his nanny were filled with hair HAHA. End-result? Gab now has a clean-cut hair ^_____^

BAD: I carried Gab when we were walking going home after his haircut because we have to walk on a busy road. I didn't notice that my watch accidentally fell off from my wrist. Maybe the lock was caught off on Gab's clothes that's why it was unlocked. I realized that i wasn't wearing my watch while i was preparing to take a bath. F.Y.I.: It's an ESPRIT silver watch filled with pink swarovski crystals inside the frame. Its my husband's gift to me when we were still in university =(

I guess along with good days and bad days, there are times that we also have good-bad days.. just like we have sunny days and rainy days, we also have sunny-rainy days..

♥ Gab's Achievement: The Potty-Call ♥

It all started just last week... Saturday morning, Gab's nanny happily told that Friday night Gab sat down at the toliet bowl when he was about to poop when she brought him to the bathroom and asked him to sit down. I was very happy with the news but a bit skeptical because it might be false alarm. So, to prove it, i had to wait until he feels like pooping again :)

Sunday, all day i observed him like a weirdo (haha!) for signs that he was about to poop. Night time came and he is still not pooping! But, when we went upstairs for bed time, he hid under the full-sized mirror and stood there for about 3 minutes. I kept a close watch on him. To my surprise, he started hurrying downstairs and went directly to the bathroom! I helped him climb up the toilet seat and held his hands 'coz he might fall in the bowl... he pooped!!! I was sooooo happy to him actually do it by himself!

Monday morning, my mom went to my house to praise Gab and told me that we will go buy a potty-trainer seat so that Gab won't fall in the bowl. So, we went to the mall and i found a Cars potty-seat. Even thought it's 3 times more expensive that other potty-seats, i chose it because i know Gab will like it a lot *wink wink*. When Gab saw the Cars potty-seat on the toliet bowl, he looked at it for a while and let him sit there for a try. He loved it! Even when i need to take it out 'coz i need to use the toilet bowl, he still puts it back in position :)

Then last night, he's nanny told me that Gab did the same thing again when he felt liked pooping already...

I smiled...

And told myself...

My little angel is slowly but surely starting to flap his wings to fly...

I NOW OFFICIALLY SAY THAT GAB IS POTTY-POOPING-TRAINED ^___^

GFCF Cooking Update: Pancakes and Banana Bread

Last Sunday, i tried to bake a banana bread using my oven toaster! hahahhah well, i was able to successfully make a loaf banana bread inside my toaster.. but its short on the sweet thing... the taste! haha i ran out of sugar at home so my banana bread tasted a bit of banana and bland LOL! but anyways it was a good try.

Moving on to pancakes... i grew up making pancakes together with my mom so i know it will be very easy ^___^ Gab just loved it!

So here are the ingredients i used for making the pancake and bread:

**GFCF Pancakes**

1 cup rice flour

1 cup rice milk in vanilla flavor (add more if you like your batter thinner)

1 tsp GF baking powder

1 organic egg

1 tsp sugar/honey/maple syrup/xylitol (add more if you like sweeter)

--> mix all ingredients together until smooth. Grease your teflon pan with a little veggie oil then pour in your batter. cook both sides.

**GFCF Banana Bread**

2 cups rice flour

4 cups rice milk in vanilla flavor

2 tsps GF baking powder

2 ripe mashed bananas

2 organic eggs

pinch of salt

1/2 cup sugar/honey/maple syrup/xylitol (add more to adjust taste)

--> mix everything together using a mixer or blender. Pour into a loaf pan or baking pan lined with baking paper/wax paper. cook in the toaster until toothpick comes out clean.

Starting a New Diet for Gab

Last Sunday, after attending a free seminar (Autism: A Perfect Storm) by Dra. Comia, a DAN! doctor, we have decided to put Gab on GFCF diet.

GFCF diet means Gluten-Free, Casein-Free diet. Gluten-Free means eliminating food sources containing gluten like wheat bread, oats, chips, cakes, well almost anything made from wheat, barley, rye, bran, etc. Casein-Free means eliminating food sources containing milk and its product like cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream, etc.

I checked out most of the groceries near our place for GFCF products available, i think the nearest that has many products is in Landmark in Trinoma, but the prices are way too expensive. Ate Cynthia, told me that it can be cheap if i know how to read labels and identify the ingredients that should be in the list. Yeah, it took me an hour or so, moving from one aisle to another, checking every label of snacks, flour mixes, juices, milks, and even tomato sauces for their ingredients. It was quite interesting to know that some of our snack delicacies are actually GFCF (like banana chips cooked in coco oil with coco sugar)! I also realized that most of the foods i cook for luch everyday are GFCF (like tinolang manok, adobo, etc.)!

One thing i became aware about also is that our local small enterprises are trying to compete with big manufacturers already by producing organic versions of our basic kitchen staples like vinegar and sugar. Quite interesting huh!

I knew already that i will be quite challenging to change Gab's diet 'coz he got addicted already to eating ice cream, clover chips, oheya chips, piatos, yogurt, etc. for snacks. I bought different flavors of LiteChoice's Rice&Oats (P26) in apple-cinnamon, veggie-asparagus, and santa fe-bbq. I also bought a pack of banana chips(P31) and LiteChoice's Rice Pops (P18) in cheese flavor. He hasn't tried out the snacks yet 'coz there's still a pack of Bread Pan in his snacks corner :)

But anyway, Gab's foolproof GFCF snacks fried camote and fried banana (both cooked using coconut oil) will always save his afternoon snack tijmes if ever he won't like the goodies i found *wink*.

Another challenge we have to win is his addiction to ice cream. Gab has a very keen sense of hearing and he can hear the Selecta kart's sound or the Sorbetes bell sound even if we turn the TV volume up. Result? Tantrums! So last night, I and my maid made a bunch of ice candies made from Berri 100% pure orange juice + Rice Dream's rice milk in vanilla + coco sugar & fresh mashed mangoes + Rice Dream's rice milk in vanilla + coco sugar... instant GFCF dessert for those kids who love cold treats! :)

GFCF diet could be challenging but i know my family can find ways to adapt it quite well.. so maybe after a few days or weeks, i'll keep you guys updated with other GFCF goodies we moms can make from our local ingredients here.

An Open Letter to Senator Noynoy Aquino from a Mother of an Autistic Child

Dear Senator Noynoy,

Up until you announced your candidacy, I had given up hope in the election process of 2010. While I have exercised my voting rights judiciously in every election since I turned eighteen, years of ineffective, dishonest governing have made me jaded and worn me out of any shred of hope.

And then you came along, and for the first time in many, many years, I felt I had something to look forward to. This child of the Marcos era, who slept through much of her adolescence in an apolitical and apathetic slumber, who resisted the call for the revolution in 1986 because she was too busy studying, is putting her hopes for honest change squarely on your shoulders. I pray for a change that will come in my lifetime and continue in my children’s and their children’s lifetimes.

Your popularity does not surprise me. I share the sentiments of many people who have felt indignant yet helpless at the shameless and callous displays of behavior of our present government. But while your popularity may help you in the course of the campaign, it has also opened you to vicious attacks from your opponents.

Your critics claim that you are autistic, and as any neurotypical person is wont to react, you have vehemently denied it, calling it “malicious and baseless.”

Allow me to say outright that I do not believe you have autism. I may not be a diagnostician, but having lived with autism every single day for the last fifteen years of my life, I know what autism is firsthand. I have witnessed it up close, lived with all its blessings, and survived almost all its challenges. What I know of it, I know not only from books, from the Net, or from research and published papers. What I know of it comes from real life. As an advocate for autism, I am proud to be part of the large community of families of Filipinos with autism, which at last count, numbers close to half a million affected individuals. That being said, let me posit a question: If you were one, what is absolutely wrong with it?

Autism is a spectrum of conditions ranging from the mildly affected to the most severely impaired. Common to this spectrum, however, are varying degrees of deficits in social relatedness, behavior, and communication. My son Alphonse, at 15, remains on the far end of the bell curve of “normal.” He is nonverbal, continues to require assistance for many of the activities of daily living, and has the cognitive understanding of a five-year-old child. You, on the other hand, are well-educated, highly conversant and intelligent; your cognitive abilities are certainly not in question. While these two pictures comprise the polar ends of the extent and breadth of a highly complicated spectrum (again, I reiterate, we are simply assuming for the sake of argument that you belong to this spectrum), they are not totally incompatible. (To wit, there are individuals with different degrees of autism already enrolled in some of our country’s best universities.)

Autism is difficult and challenging, and to those of us who love persons with autism, it is a rollercoaster ride every single day. Is it a disability? It is, but it also is not; it depends on how you look at it. And yet, when you really think about it, ravenous greed is a much harder disorder to treat, as are immorality, shamelessness, corruption, and vice. I have heard of recovery in autism, but diseases of the soul are almost always incurable.

If being autistic means not being able to lie, then by all means, I should be proud to say I am autistic.

If being autistic means not being able to cheat and rig elections, then call me autistic.

If being autistic means not being able to steal, to use public funds for personal gain while the country wallows in poverty, then I am staunchly autistic.

If being autistic means satisfaction with what one has, if it means a characteristic lack of greed and materialism, then I count myself autistic.

If it means not being envious and not judging people based on looks, money, connections, or pogi points, then, yes, I am autistic.

So the next time someone calls you autistic and you feel slighted, perhaps you may wish to reply to them this way instead: “Thank you for calling me autistic. To me, autism does not make one more or less of a person. It does not make one more or less of a man. It just makes one autistic. I am sorry to disappoint you that I am not, but I hope to be able to live up to the honesty people with autism expect every day. I would much rather be autistic than be corrupt. Better autistic than be unable to understand what it means to be a public servant. Thank you very much.”

The day you do, you have championed the cause of the least able of our people. And for what it’s worth, you still have my vote.

♥ The Poem for my Real Life..

Today, my mom went to my house for a visit and told me about my sis-in-law's friend's older sister who has a son with autism but the boy goes to regular schooling now. Mom told me that it would be helpful to get to talk to someone undergoing the same scenario as i am.

Hubby and i have been discussing about Gab's developments in his occupational therapy and speech therapy in the past months. Gab's already turning 4 this May and my concerns for his behavior is really alarming. We have decided to either change his OT or change to another therapy center.

So, we checked on H.O.M.E therapy center and inquired about OT schedules available. Most schedules available were in the afternoon, i think i won't be convenient time for Gab. I checked on their therapy room setup, quite different approach from Center for GOALS therapy center. GOALS has a more like playroom type setting that Gab really liked.

Conclusion, I think we would go for a change in the therapist if she cannot address our concerns.

Since my brother came home last weekend, i told him to get me some mascara and kohl eyeliner in Singapore. And he did! (thanks bro! ur the best haha!)

He got me this "red box" mascara-eyeliner duo and i guess it's a good deal. Pupa brand is new thing for me but i saw some of their products over the internet and the packaging of their makeup kits are sooooooooooooo cute!

Initial review on Pupa Kohl liner: Well i am really in love with kohl liners because they are easy to apply due to creamy texture unlike other matte eyeliners out there. Comparing the Pupa kohl and Revlon kohl? For me the Pupa kohl has a better texture than the latter and doesn't smudge as much as Revlon's kohl. An added bonus to the Ultraflex Kit is that it has a free pencil sharpener. It looks like your regular sharpener but with a much bigger vent on the opposite end so that your liner's tip won't get stuck and break (hate it everytime it happens before!). I think it's really good for kohl pencils because of their soft tips which easily breaks off when stuck inside the sharpener.

Initial review on Pupa Ultraflex Mascara: I told my brother to get me a brown mascara because recently i've been having this obsession with browns.. yeah and he got me a CARBON-BLACK mascara! Anyways, nothing really fancy with the packaging of the mascara but for sure i can easily find it in my makeup stash because of its bright red color. Pupa has its Art-flex wand that promises high precision in coating all the lashes and avoiding any lumps. Hmmm.. rubber-type wands are very typical nowadays and i find them very difficult to manage if the mascara has a thin consistency. I have to use a separate lash wand to comb my lashes to separate them. But i have to tell you guys, it made my lashes stand-out like i'm wearing false lashes and it doesn't smudge also! ^_^

I guess i have to try out Pupa's other products also.. and get their cutest ever makeup kits! ♥

Watsons Magic Lips

Last Saturday, i went to Watsons to scout for a curl definer and shampoo for my newly "kulot" hair. But instead of buying stuffs for my hair, i ended up buying a lip balm. I found this Magic Lips exclusively distributed by Watsons. It was interesting because it says at the carton label that it will turn your lips to soft pink and has SPF 25 to protect your lips for UV rays. It also has Vitamin E to moisturize the lips. Hmmm.. sounds yumy enough for me to buy.. haha anyway since it's pretty cheap also :)

The lip balm is colorless but turns pink when applied to your lips. I tried it out and it really turned my lips to pink! AMAZING!! Plus, the color stains your lips so it lasts longer than other tinted glosses. It gives enough shine to make your lips look healthier but it's not greasy :)

So, there... maybe i'll be using this lip balm for the meanwhile... ♥♥♥

My eldest brother came home last Tuesday from Singapore. I think I haven't seen him for a year and a half or so. Its Friday already and he's going back to Singapore tomorrow... but I still ahven't seen him!!! Reason: He's busy.. and I'm working T_T

Anyway, He went to my apartment to see Gab and bring our "pasalubongs". Gab got some educational wooden puzzles and a wooden shape labyrinth. I got my FIRST EVER LANEIGE PRODUCT!!!! Last Saturday, i finally colored my hair! I bought Kolours hair color system in Burgundy. Saturday late night, i started applying the dye to my hair... focusing on dyeing the bottom half of my hair but it came out that the top half of my hair is the one that got the color!!! Now i'm thinking if I should buy another box of hair dye and dye the bottom half of my hair... *sigh*

May 25, 2009 Monday... At exactly 9am I picked up Mily's package at the local post office of my city...

I never thought that the box is this huge... and prettty heavy (*wink wink*). As you can see the box is wrapped with cheese cloth sewn with white thread... i guess the stuffs are very very safe ^___^

I slowly opened it.. carefully removing the white thread. I think it took me 5mins to remove the cheese cloth cover (hahaha!). As I expected, the box was sealed with lotsa black masking tape (i think i'm tired already LOL). By the way, mine is inside the small box inside the big box... LOL gets??? :P

TADA!!! here are the gifts Mily got fo me!!! A black REVLON kajal liner, A Lakme compact powder, a VCD of 200 Pounds of Beauty for my Mom, and an automatic rickshaw toy for Gab.

All i can say it... THANKS SOOOOO MUCH MILY!!! ♥♥♥ especially for your letter ♥♥♥

Package Arrived!! Ellana Minerals ^^

Yesterday, my package from Ellana Minerals arrived! I'm quite surprised coz i was expecting that Air 21 will deliver it today. Anyway, when i got home, my mother already opened it maybe coz she is curious about what's inside. As always I'm soooo EXCITED to check out the powders i got. I got 2 Premium Blend Mineral Foundations in Hazelnut Latte and Caramel Latte (sounds like starbucks LOL!) and a Translucent Sheer Finish Mineral Finishing Powder in Espresso Con Panna. They are placed in small zip lock bags for sampling. By the way, I didn't pay anything for the powders, just for the shipping :) (85 pesosesoses only LOL coz i live outside the Metro). If you want to try out their products, just fill out the form here.. VERY EASY! :)

I had the chance to try the Hazelnut Latte Foundation today and I'm so amazed how it matched my skin exactly and blended very well. The Caramel Latte I think i will try out tomorrow. The Espresso Con Panna also proved to be really transluscent and I noticed shine reduction on my T-zone :)

Since the samples are placed it zip lock bags, I had to transfer a small amount of the powder foundation in the glass cap of my L'oreal True Minerals Foundation and use my face brush to apply it on my face. I did the same with the finishing powder. First, I thought that the sample would only last for a few days, but after using the powders, i think it will last for at least 3 weeks (for me coz i only like light coverage.

The verdict??? my foundation is already on its 7th hour.. my skin still feels soft and smooth and i had to do some minimal touch-ups only powdering my T-zone to reduce shine. Overall... I THINK IMMA START LOVING THIS BABY ^__~

On E.L.F. Cosmetics...

Today i got 3 more stuffs from e.l.f. cosmetics... a plumping lip glaze, face brush, and pencil eyeliner.. to add to my first e.l.f. product which was the eye shadow brush. I've encountered this brands many times already whenever i go to Robinson's Department store to buy some Nivea products and checkout new cosmetic products from Maybelline, Covergirl, Elianto, Max Factor, and L'oreal. But I've never been attracted to the e.l.f booth because honestly I don't find their packaging very eye-catching.

I think a month ago, when I slept at my Buddy's place, she told me about the brushes that she bought and testified that its really good for its cheap price.. well very cheap indeed! :) That event made me curious about that cosmetic brand so i checked out YouTube to see if some people already made reviews about e.l.f. makeups and brushes. I found several videos and watched them to convince myself to get soem of their products... well the products that got good ratings from reviews :)

OK, so here are my e.l.f. stuffs for now...

♥ e.l.f. Plumping Lip Glaze in Baby Doll (P129.75) -- I like the minty sensation it gives, you feel like you just finished brushing your teeth :) The colors of the glazes available are also good but i liked the pale pink color of Baby Doll.. gives enough shimmery sheer pink tint to my lips. I GIVE THIS A 5/5 RATING :)

♥ e.l.f. Professional Total Face Brush (P129.75) -- This brush is made from synthetic nylon but its amazingly soft compared to other brushes available in local department stores. I like the pearl color of the handle but its a bit short compared to other face brushes. But anyway, it doesn't matter to me. The only thing i don't like about this brush is that it's bristles are not very dense. I GIVE THIS A 4/5 RATING :)

♥ e.l.f. Brightening Eye Liner in Black (P129.75) -- It's a creamy, easy to glide on eye pencil plus it has a free sharpener :) It has a clear cap to prevent staining the inside of your bag or cosmetic pouches and breaking the pencil tip. The beauty consultant told me that it doesn't smudge, but i think it smudges a bit.. well making your eyes appear to have a smokey-eyed effect (LOL!). Talking about staying power, It doesn't really stay on for very long (maybe only for an hour or two). I GIVE THIS A 2/5 RATING :(

♥e.l.f Professional Eye Shadow Brush (P129.75) -- This brush received excellent feedbacks because of its very soft bristles and good grip handle. The dome-shaped bristles are good for easy eye shadow application. I GIVE THIS A 5/5 RATING :)

In the Fast Lane No More..

Yesterday, It was just 9am and I was already very tired.. but I try not to show it. Whole weekend had been tiring one.. child rearing, house cleaning.. and the most tiring one was.. thinking about financial and family dilemmas.. I think I'll go through another emotional instability and identity crisis.

I'm a person who tries to ignore abrupt feelings of happiness, anger, frustration, sadness, and hurt. I always try to be calm and unresponsive to growing insanity around me that's why my friends often tag me as "masunget", "naive", "inconsiderate". But anyways, I don't really dare to care about all of those.

For once, I've tried to change that inherent attitude coz many people really misunderstood me as something incomprehensible. But it always ends up to this.. I try but i choose to fail in trying. I think I'm better being like this.. if i try to act softer.. as if I'm just being pushed around by others often being abused.. in turn losing myself more..

Yesterday also, I realized that leveling up with people around me is not my forte anymore. Yeah well before i'm pretty sure that i can do that well but now I think my life really changed and leveling up doesn't fit in that life anymore.

As all the insecurity and enviousness slowly fed on me, I find the feelings pretty much amusing for a while so I embraced them. From shopping, to friendships, to partying, to vacations... I envy every person whom I know. The feeling is like this.. I get envious.. my heart feels like its slowly feeding on itself.. I try not to mind the feeling.. I leave.. my mind is flying elsewhere.. I can't sleep well.. I get stressed comforting my feelings.. the next day I find another scenario to make myself envious..

Now, I think this whole thing is a learning experience for me. . this getting envious and leveling up thingy.. for one thing, getting envious is something that i can get over with after 2 or 3 days. Leveling up is another story, I learned that i should really ditch it the hard way.. like getting hurt by words. this "very chair" became a witness on how i tried to level up with them.. and it came to the endpoint already. The months that i tried to level up with them had been stressful.. with me not even knowing why i had to do those things. Escpecially at this point in my life, i have many responsibilities at hand that even my bestfriend doesn't know of. Some people around me won't understand or even won't believe my situation but anyway that's already expected.

All I know now is.. even jokes can hurt me now.. a big sign of my emotional instability slowly creeping through my veins..

I grew up wearing Hello Kitty dresses and pulling Hello Kitty trolly to my elementary school. I write using Hello Kitty pencil and erase my mistakes using Hello Kitty eraser. I put my pencils and erasers inside my Hello Kitty pop out case and put it inside my Hello Kitty backpack. I cursed my school for providing the notebooks coz it meant that there's no need for me to buy Hello Kitty notebooks. I tie up my hair using Hello Kitty bands and clip it with Hello Kitty bobby pins.

Highschool.. i got to use Hello Kitty notebooks! Instead of a trolly or backpack, I had a Hello Kitty shoulder bag :) I still used Hello Kitty band and pins.. but that was all..

College.. I think I only used Hello Kitty notebooks.. that's it! LOL

At first, I thought I would just grow out of it because anyway fashion style changes through age. But now I'M SOOO BACK TO MY HELLO KITTY ADDICTION!!!

I woke up early today to make monthly progress reports for my students coz tomorrow is the end of the month already (working days i mean). I'm feeling weird again, mixed emotions again though it's already Gab's 2nd visit to his dad's house. It's just inexplainable...

I try to shrug it off so i cleaned the house (well basically just fixed the bedsheets and Gab's toys), then prepared coffee, opened my laptop, and plugged in my media player to the speakers system. I sat down, sipped coffee, started working on my reports, and listened to music..

A Shopaholic Movie Date ^_~

February 23.. I was already skeptical about the movie date with my Buddy coz suddenly my office computer crashed and i had to do overtime so that i can repair my computer.

February 24.. It's already 3:30am but still no luck, i'm sooo exhausted and sleepy that i decided to go home and rest. I came home around 5am already. I thought to myself, "if i can't fix my computer, i can't stay at Buddy's house coz i need to bring laptop the next day... so no going to the movies". But God blessed me with a clear mind so i was able to focus and think on how to fix it so around 6pm (well i had to cancel 2 classes) my computer is alive and kickin' again ^_^.

After seeing my computer worked again, i felt excited already about the movie date, it's been a long time since i last watched a movie in the theater and with Buddy. Time went by pretty fast and my mood is soooo good. I'm ready to watch!

Minutes after 7:30pm.. Buddy dropped by tomy office to get the movie passes (given by my guy) coz i told her to check if the passes are valid in that cinema.

9:30pm.. I hurriedly descended the stairs of our office building (no elevator after 7pm booooo!) and barged out of the building. I took a jeepney going to Pedro Gil coz i missed walking in the dimlit sidewalk of Pedro Gil, with all the different cheap stuffs offered by sidewalk-vendors. But I walked fast coz Buddy was waiting for me at the entrance of Robinson's Midtown.

9:50pm.. We were already seated and preparing our food (rice-in-box that Buddy bought SOOO DELICIOSO!) before the movie starts.

10:00pm.. The craze began.. LOL!

The movie reminded me of Legally Blonde because of some super chic gestures of Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher), the colorful and well expensive clothes she wore, the signature pink-girl walking past others wearing dark neutral colors, the way she arranged her planner-pencil-sharpener combo during the meeting, and the pink MacBook ^^.

It was overwhelming to see lots of clothes and shoes and bags during SALE day for luxury brands.. i thought my eyes sparkled LOL!

Seeing women fight over clothes and shoes during a sale, and swarming the sale stores are scary but i think very hilarious. It seemed unbelievable, but well yeah it's a fact. And the issue about credit card debts is a common story for most people. And imagine how scary debt/loan collectors could be.. hihihi!

The romance was taken lightly, reminding people that "kilig factor" in movies can come from funny encounters and slight hindrances from some 3rd wheels. Observing Buddy, i think it was EFFECTIVE!

Moral of the whole craziness... HONESTY, TRUST, FAMILY, FRIENDSHIP.. which came from non-material things. Love was not the focus but it was expressed in terms of honesty and trust, as was shown when Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy) got upset with Becky after the live appearance in a talk show. Of course Rebecca's family was there to back her up after the scandal, they even thought of selling the dream van they had just bought, helped her decide about turning down Alette Magazine's job offer, and supporting her The Girl in the Green Scarf Sale and Auction event.

All throughout the movie, friendship was emphasized in a very good way. Suze is like Becky's conscience and their ways of dealing with Becky's credit card bills and debt collector calls and sooo hilarious. She's the typical friends-will-always-be-friends-till-the-end :)

I just wonder... what's with the GREEN SCARF anyway??? ^_^

YAY!!! This is one happy day! I had lunch with my Best Buddy in the World ^_^ and I bought my ultra-supah-uber dream bag from Dorothy Perkins!! WOOOOOOOOOOTTT!!!

I had a sleepover at my bestfriend's place last night coz we have to talk about a lot of things.. well gossips and updates about our lives.. and i need to get my pack biscocho (well my buddy's sister already opened it T_T) and Nivea Lemon and Oil Body Wash (smells good ^^). We talked till 3am over a small pizza and bowl of beef steak w/ rice from Ministop! (zzzzzzzz....) The chit-chat was soooo refreshing, well after not seeing each other since the mid-month of December last year. It felt like so many things happened to both of us in a matter of 2 months. I am totally happy for her coz she is already a licensed Pharmacist and has her best hair and.. and... LOL! (peace buddy :p)

We had lunch today at Reyes Barbecue (me, buddy, and my guy), but i was soooo dismayed with their squid meal T_T... ITS LIKE RUBBER!!! DOH! Anyway the chicken barbecue and liempo tasted good though.

After having lunch, we separated ways already coz my buddy has some commitment with her organization, and me and my guy went to Robinson's Midtown to do some window-shopping. I really just planned to buy the TFS Nutrition Liquid and e.l.f. eyeshadow brush, but i ended up buying the brush and... the DOROTHY PERKINS DESPATCH BAG!!! Oh well, I guess my so-called window-shopping doesn't really work after all HAHA!B By the way, thanks to my guy for encouraging me to buy it ^^

I like the DP bag mainly coz its a sling/body bag (good for commuting especially at night), its brown color is versatile, the style is rugged but still chic so easy to match with different clothes, and its 100% polyurethane (abrasion resistant, resistant to oils and solvents, tear resistant, weather resistant, heat & cold resistant).. NICE!!!

My New Fab Mineral Mascara ^_~

My much awaited Physician's Formula Mineral Mascara finally came yesterday!!! I bought it from pinkmiming on www.ebay.ph :) I ordered it last Feb. 13, 2009 (special day LOL) and i paid the next day thru BPI bank deposit but i wasn't able to beat the 2pm payment cut-off so shipping will have to wait till Monday next week *sigh* But it was just ok :) Tuesday came very fast and package already arrived!! (thanks to AIR21 for the fast shipping)

Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Mascara is the 1st mineral-based mascara and what's good is its talc-free. Talc tends to clog pores that could lead to skin infections and breakouts. The mascara's ultra-gentle formula is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Another bonus is ITS BUILD-ABLE so you can get that false eye lash effect!!! It contains derivatives of Vitamin A, E, and B5, botanical extracts (Aloe leaf extract, Camomile flower extract), mineral water, pure mineral pigments, and active mineral extracts.

Ok let's check out the packaging, vial, and applicator. The mascara comes in a carton-laminated packaging, reminiscent of the usual packaging of cosmetics found in local
drugstores in US (or similar to hbc and Watsons here in Philippines).

The mascara comes in a 10gram polygonal-gray vial (view from top it looks like an edgy diamond ^_^). Its made from plastic so no danger of breaking, but somewhat reminds me of monobloc chairs LOL!!! The design is simple, easy to grip, but edgy (this ROCKS!) It closes tightly so no chances of spillage and so far no liquid drips on the rim coz its made from rubber.. NICE and CLEAN!!

The rubber applicator has two sets of fine bristles. One side has a single row of bristles that is meant to comb, lift, and separate your lashes. The other side has 7 rows of bristles that is good for coating and building up lashes. I find it very easy to use and clean to apply.

The results... after 1 coat my lashes looked naturally healthy and fuller without the clumping and smudging :) I added another 2 coats to see the false eye lash effect and... it was a SUCCESS!!! I didn't feel any heaviness at all (coz some mascaras after build-up made my lashes feel heavier). Removing the mascara is also easy since its water-based so soap and water can do or you can also use your regular makeup remover or lip and eye makeup remover. As for me, I used my Herb Day makeup remover towelettes from FS (coz I can't wash my face at night or else i'll end up with eye spasms T_T).

Maybe I became a bit biased about my so-called review but.. haha sorry BUT I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCT NOW.. *evil laugh*

I think being heartbroken is like a ROAD BLOCK (well if ur watching Amazing Race).. Only one can do the task..if you don't finish the task.. then its over for you. OK relate.. heartbroken scenario is like an endless coping up.. well in whatever situation u became one. You watch a sad movie.. u become heartbroken.. u bite the feeling.. then u cope.. if u can't cope, actually its a loss. Understanding and accepting feelings are the very foundations of emotional stability.

Last Monday, I bought a T3 magazine (a monthly gadget magazine). I always look forward to Butch Dalisay's article. This month he wrote about something very special -- ENONYMITY.

According to him, it's the hybrid of the words ENMITY and ANONYMITY. I got intrigued of course! Why did he come up with that word? Answer -- taking advantage of freedom of expression over the net. He said that "On the internet, everyone is anonymous. It's no wonder then that it's filled with enmity -- hate blogs, rants, flamers, and more angry ten-page emails than your spam filter can handle".

Now I wonder, do I also fill my blog with all the hate in my world?? Well, maybe not really, but i do admit that sometimes I do blogging to vent out my angst. But hey! Isn't blog referred to as your online diary or journal? So, actually you can really write about anything.. even curse someone! LOL!

Thursday, I visited Yahoo OMG to check out the article about Jennifer-Angelina gossip. I browsed Angelina's pics, as always, she is like a goddess for me, but i noticed the increasing number of hate comments, not about her clothes, makeup, hair, hair, or shoes, but because of her relationship with Brad Pitt. By the way, who are these people who posted those comments? They are I-don't-know and I-don't-care! They are the faceless, judgmental idiots who love to criticize others online.

While I was reading the comments, I was chatting with Amanda in the TKA Villa that time. She told me that it's very hard to comment about the Angelina-Brad-Jennifer intrigue because she doesn't know the whole story and she doesn't want to be judgmental.

Piece by piece, I try to come up with a good reason why some people online are acting like certified critics and like for-your-info-im-genius. I kinda wanna think that these people have split personas.. in real world -- timid geeks, in virtual world -- uber hyped players. Maybe because since you can be anonymous on the net, they can't put you to jail. The worst punishment you can get is getting banned on a website.

Last friday... TKA Villa topic.. GBA (Golden Bell Awards). Amanda was translating to us the whole convos happening. Everyone there was waiting for the announcement of the Best Actress for Drama. Lin Yi Chen was nominated. So we are all waiting for the results. WaaaaaaaH! Yi Chen won the award! *applause applause*

Someone suggested making a banner for Yi Chen "moment", i can't remember who brought up the idea. Suddenly I thought of trying to make one since im trying to learn more of Photoshop CS.

Saturday night, after tucking in my little guy to bed, I started on my trial project. I'm not so sure of the correct size to use so i followed the size suggested on the instructions on some tutorial website that i found. Of course i made many mistakes.. uh wrong color combos, typo errors, too much smudging, accidentally deleting layers.. hahaha.

Ok so now i feel half prepared in my Villa comeback.. i wasn't able to attend the 2nd TKA GIRLS MEET-UP, i can't watch the LoB BTS vds and extras due to time constraints and chaotic work schedule, i can open the TKA Villa blogsite but everytime i scroll down I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING!!

Now i feel worse than ever. I'm bearing this feeling of being SO-SO INTO this coming home.

It's not that i don't wanna be home. It's more of i wanna belong again..

Promise On A Sunday

October 26th, typical Sunday except my dad asked me to try driving halfway our street. After a few dead-engine-and-i-laugh, i think i did somewhat fair today. My dad said that i already know how to use the steering wheel coz he even asked me to turn and go back to the starting point, which is our house. I just really got some problem with the clutch coz i always forget to step on it to change gears.

Ok change topic.. i had my hair rebonded and my nails had their much needed mani-pedi! (by the way, my toenails have some nail art, a small flower on each toenail! LOL flower power!).

Some thought is bugging me now.. if someone promises to do something then something happened to cause delay in fulfilling a promise, like moving the said promise an hour or two later, should that be enough reason already to break the promise?

It happened to me today and i feel devastated. It felt like im NOBODY. What's the difference of keeping the promise now and doing it 10-12 hours later? I really feel invisible now. i value time so much. I cherish togetherness more than any earthly thing.

Why are these two things more difficult to receive than receiving material things? I just wonder now..

A Phone Call

It's 4:40am already, 25th of October, sitting here inside the jeepney at the terminal.. all beaten up and still have this freaking migraine. It was one hella working week. Seems like so much happened since Monday and i still can't absorb everything!

Yesterday, i received a text message from my big guy saying that he would be confined in the hospital. Honestly, i didn't know how i should react, but one thing's for sure.. i wasn't worried that time.. and i started pondering why.. I don't want him in there. Why? I don't know. Then i thought maybe i was trying to be defensive on the thought that i had to go there to see him with his parents. I told myself "nightmare!". I ended up sending him messages that i know were too harsh, discouraging him about the confinement, even attacking the quality of the hospital he's in.

"I will never go there", that was my decision. That was so mean of me, but i never doubted if that was wrong. I went back to pondering why i wasn't worried at all. Answer? I still don't know..

I started to doubt again how i felt for him.. who is he in my life.. he's my big guy and i cherish him every single second of my life. So i decided to call him. My right ear started hurting because of the endless ringing sound. I was already pissed off. He texted, he just woke up. I called again.

I heard him talking. He's voice was too soft that i couldn't even hear him (or was it due to my hurting ear). Suddenly, i felt pain radiating through my soul and i was indeed surprised with what i had just felt. I thought, "what if i won't hear his voice again?". Oh well.. so i am using an old PDA (Palm Pilot) now to do some blog entries that later on i'm gonna transfer to the PC by.. tan-ta-na-nan.. TYPING! LOL! A more amped way of using scratch paper for drafting haha! Basically i'm just keying in any random thoughts that pops in my mind. I'm so worked up into blogging these days maybe because i haven't really blogged for a long time. So that's why i'm trying to make use of this black and white palm that i found just yesterday inside my desk's drawer.

Now what! I want a new PDA just for my blogging addiction. Well any PDA would do just fine.. as long as its in FULL COLOR already.. hahaha! So i texted my big bro in Singapore to go find and get me one! With WI-FI??? uh.. MUCH BETTER!!!

So let's see if i'll get a new PDA or i'll just grow out of this oh-ma-gah-another-earthly-desire.. LOL!!!

How about i just get a PDA phone?? Well, i'm not a fan of all-in-one gadgets. I still believe in one-specialty-is-still-damn-better.. hahaha!!

It's already 2:48am, i just finished editing Levinia's pic using Photoshop CS. Doing that wasn't my original plan to relieve my-so-called-stress because of ever slow temporary pc run by Windows Vista. I had a pending video-editing job to do but i hadn't foreseen the upcoming obstacle.. 3gp isn't recognized by Windows Movie Maker!!! Sounds too technical? Well, 3gp is the common format used in videos recorded using a mobiile phone.

Anyway, i wanna show you guys my stress-buster-masterpiece.. hahaha!!!

My calvary is halfway over.. my office pc finally gave up on me. after several weeks of suffering from suddenly-my-pc-turns-off and being outdated in my cyber life, i now can go back to checking my email, FS, MS, FB, TKA Villa mingling, and blogging.

On the other hand , i got more time to gossip with my co-teachers and have some time to relax on my office chair. I even had more time at home coz i was able to go home early unlike before.

Myabe now i've already learned how to balance both words.. thanks to my online-sisters-turned-real-friends, my big and little men, and office b!@tches.

I welcome myself back to PINK BLOOD..

CY-ber-WORLD

Its been two weeks since i last cared for my blog. Haha i'm such a loser for that. Well, i was kinda busy lurking around a new-found social network called US Cyworld. i first heard of this site from my Korean students coz there's a so-called Cyworld Korea, quite popular to my teen students.

Ok. I admit i started out in that site for the wrong reason. I even used my friend-given-korean-name to match his username in the site. I go to the thread where he is posting. I didn't know that there are many Pinoy members in cyworld. They even have a regular thread in there. i can't resist the temptation to post (aka chat in cyworld). The diversity of topics there are discussing are quite amusing, from corny jokes to pinoy fyi to gossips spreading around the site. People there don't have a common point for bonding except that they are pinoys, enough to make them feel at home.

First week, I started threading, he was not there, my intention was to join the pinoy crowd. I click the POST button, the thread refreshed, He was there, we posted at the same time. I thought it was coincidence, but i know that he should be there. I continued posting replies to others inroducing myself and making friends. He ignored me. I felt non-existent.

Second week, He wrote on my guest book several times. I replied (stupid me!). I sent cyworld messages to him the next day, I ended up accussed of assumptions. He got pissed off. i continued making friends with others. The following day, cyworld server was down. Me and my new-cy-friends ended up in YM conference. It was fun to know them better. Chi became my new-bru-girl. Pinoy thread election result was out, everything was just for fun. End of that week, realization for me. It's over and done.

After those two weeks that i spent in cyworld, I thought I was ready to leave that space. But I came back, for the right reason now. I came back to enjoy the socialization scheme that cyworld offers. Though sometimes I intentionally try to piss him off whenever his there, but its just entertainment for me now and for others who laugh at my punch lines.

I'm not there as Annishi anymore, but as JiHye, a new face in cyworld. I enjoy prepping up my profile page, building up my minirooom, playing miniquiz, photoediting, and making fansigns. Like in real world, cyberworld is huge, so i have to go out and explore. It's like I'm visiting the other side of myself now. A personality far from Annishi's sweet image..

But it's over now.. JiHye is non-existent... again...

Be Right Back.. a.k.a "brb"

When i started chatting, i think i was in my sophomore year in college that time, i was so new to chatting jargons like "weebee, asl, ctc.. and brb". But i think "brb" is the most used chat jargon in the TKA Villa since i started chatting there. Well, maybe because some chatters are chatting while waiting for the TKA clips to finish buffering, then excuse themselves by using "brb" and make their exit in the chatbox. Or, maybe just busy with something else for a moment.

I use "brb" very often coz i chat during work hours.. yes WORK HOURS! hahaha! Multitasking as what some regulars told me. But sometimes i get confused with "brb". Like, how long should u be gone if u typed "brb"? And, how long should u wait if someone typed "brb"?

According to www.urbandictionary.com, "brb" means that someone is going to return at some random point that you're unable to predict. Hmm.. so it means it could be as long as an hour, or even a day, a week, a month, a year, a decade, a century.. hahaha sorry for the exaggeration!

How about the definition that i've come up.. "brb" is a form of escape for the following scenarios: 1. You can't relate to the topic being discussed in chatroom; 2. You don't want to answer a certain question asked, or; 3. You are simply avoiding the person.

I've come up with those situations coz i have tried using "brb" at those times and it actually worked. And, maybe i have experienced or at least felt that some are using "brb" for those events.

So you said "brb"... hmm.. i told myself "i think i shouldn't wait anymore"...

I got my new mp3 player last June 21. My brother already loaded some songs in the player, so all i have to do is charge it and listen to the songs afterwards. I wonder "where the hell my brother got these songs!" i thought to myself. Then i discovered these two songs from Leona Lewis.. I ACTUALLY LOVE THEM! You can also listen to the music in my playlist, tracks 10 and 11 ^_^

I wanna share this literary work i received from a classmate way back in college.. here it goes..

I sat here in English class, I stared at the girl next to me. She was my so-called "BESTFRIEND". I stared at her LONG, SILKY HAIR, and I wished she was mine. But she DIDN'T NOTICE ME LIKE THAT, and I KNEW IT. After class, she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before. I handed them to her. She said "Thanks" ans gave me a kiss on the cheek, I want to tell her, I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT TO BE JUST FRIENDS, I LOVE HER BUT I'M JUST TOO SHY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY...

11th grade, the phone rang. On the other end, it was her. She was in tears mumbling on and on about how her love broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After two hours, one Drew Barymore movie, and three bags of chips, che decided to go to sleep. She looked at me, said "Thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT TO BE JUST FRIENDS, I LOVE HER BUT I'M JUST TOO SHY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY...

Senior year, the day before prom, she walked to my locker, "My date is sick." she said. "He's not gonna go, well, I didn't have a date," and in the 7th grade, we made a PROMISE that if neither of us had dates, we would go together just as "BESTFRIENDS". So we did go to the Prom night. After everything was over, I was standing at her front door step. I stared at her as she smiled at me and stared at me with her crystal eyes. I WANT HER TO BE MINE, BUT SHE DOESN'T THINK OF ME LIKE THAT, AND I KNEW IT. Then she said, "I had a great time, THANKS!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT TO BE JUST FRIENDS, I LOVE HER BUT I'M JUST TOO SHY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY...

A day passed, then a week, then months, and a year. Before I could blink, it was graduation day. I watched her PERFECT BODY floated like an ANGEL on the stage to get her diploma. I WANT HER TO BE MINE, BUT SHE DIDN'T NOTICE ME LIKE THAT, AND I KNEW IT. Before everyone went home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and cried as I hugged her. Then she lifted her head from my shoulder and said, "YOU'RE MY BESTFRIEND, THANKS!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT TO BE JUST FRIENDS, I LOVE HER BUT I'M JUST TOO SHY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY...

Now I sit in the pews of the church. That girl is getting married now. I watched her say "I do" and drive off to her new life, married to another man. I wanted her TO BE MINE, BUT SHE DIDN'T SEE ME LIKE THAT AND I KNEW IT. But before she drove away, she came to me and said "YOU CAME!" she said "THANKS!" and kissed me on the cheek. I want to tell her, I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT TO BE JUST FRIENDS, I LOVE HER BUT I'M JUST TOO SHY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY...

Years passed, I looked down at her coffin, coffin of a girl who used to be my "BESTFRIEND". At the service, they read a diary entry she had written in her high school years. This is what it read:

"... I STARED AT HIM WISHING HE WAS MINE, BUT HE DOESN'T NOTICE ME LIKE THAT, AND I KNEW IT, I WANT TO TELL HIM, I WANT HIM TO KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT US TO BE JUST FRIENDS, I LOVE HIM BUT I'M JUST TOO SHY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY... I WISH HE WOULD TELL ME THAT HE LOVES ME..."

"I WISH I DID, TOO..." I thought to myself, and I cried.

Do yourself a favor, tell him/her that you love him/her. Even if you don't know how they'll react, just tell them how you "REALLY" feel about them. They won't be there forever. Time will come and they'll appreciate the love you've given them.

This is a lesson that i have to learn yet.. many times i failed to show how much i appreciate the people around me. But i think i'm slowly learning.. to be more expressive. Anyways i have nothing to lose if i show or say how i really feel.. it gives me peace and contentment in return.

TKA Girls Meet Up ^^

After many weeks of "busy-ness" coz of chatting, i finally had the inspiration to blog up again.. haha!

May 31st, the first time that im going to meet Mei-unni, Lyssa, and Velvet. 11:30am i woke up using alarm clock coz im so scared that i myt woke up late. i had a quick shower and had a light brunch. I turned my closet upside down to find something comfy and nice to wear. I was always keeping in mind to wear something simple, not really to dress up coz we are going to Sta. Cruz to hunt DVDs.

1:30pm i arrived at SM North EDSA to meet Velvet. Hmm.. she's late! haha but it's ok coz she had a very good reason like forgetting her money at home. lolz! we went to LRT Monumento Station to meet Lyssa. We rode a taxi going there coz it's so hot outside! grrr! we met Lyssa at around 2:30pm. So we got on the train and chatted a little coz we have to get off at Tayuman Station to meet Mei-unni (fresh from the spa! lolz!).

So our first stop, Lights and Sounds Museum.. bits and pieces of history that i've just learned.. haha still many things for me to learn about history! Of course we didn't forget to take pictures! haha but most of the pictures are not so good coz we look haggard coz of the hot temperature outside! sheezzz! we dropped by Luneta... hayyy havent been there for quite some time! hahaha we had fun walking around and taking scenic pictures and fooling around like kids!

Next stop, DVD shops at Sta.Cruz.. no piccus for this place coz.. ehem.. its kinda not very safe there. hehe! on our way to the DVD shops, Mei-unni brought us to a stall where you can buy sugar cane juice. it was my first time to try it out. it was so delicious and of course sweet! it was such a fun experience, overwhelming to see lotsa DVDs of Asian Dramas that i've watched and havent watch yet. I bought TKA and Nodame Cantabile DVD.

Its already getting dark when we arrived at Robinsons' Place Ermita to have dinner. We already have chosen to dine at Secret Recipe beforehand. the dinner was sumptuous and filling! hehe we need to eat a lot to recover from the walking marathon that we had. so while we were waiting for our food to be served, we callled several TKAers like Granelle and Jyo, we also tried reaching Cherr and Gangan but their phones couldn't be reached. Reiz(my dawty) called me also. after finishing dinner... a moment of silence.. hahahha something i found out that's common for all of us.. quiet when full!!!

After eating, we strolled for some time and checked out some boutiques. we went out of the mall around 9:00pm already and had some piccus again beside the fountain. we even asked a group of teens to take a pic for us! lolz!

So its going home time! Velvet had to ride a FX, then me, Mei-unni, and Lyssa took the train again..

It was one experience that i'll never forget. One thing is because it was my first time to meet people that i've come to know only in chat. Second is that its my first time again to get into social life..

Virtual Burden

Oftentimes I think that chatting is the most fun thing to do in the web. You get lots of friends. You share your thoughts simutaneously with many people. You meet people from different countries and cultures, and yet realize that you have many things in common. Quite amazing, isn't it?

Many relationships are formed through chatting... friendship, sisterhood/brotherhood, clan, romantic relationship.. to name a few. It all boils down to this... addicted to communicate. :)

But like any other types of communication, misunderstandings are just around the four corners or your monitor. Since you cannot see the person, the mystery is there. And because of that mystery, getting closer or testing limits are quite hard.

Sometimes statements made could be offensive for another and you have no control over to how you could take back what you have already typed. All you can do is type "i'm sorry". It's the same when you said something to someone, you can't take it back. But the difference is when you say it, the tone gives away the intention, but when you type it, its all up to the receiver to decode it.

How about the feeling? In every medium of communication, the feelings attached are the same. If you know you hurt someone, you feel burdened of course. But if you talk to that person, settling things become easier. But with chatting, it's a different story. Seeing letters on your screen saying "i'm sorry" is quite boring. So what to do? I guess nothing, just wait for the next right time to come.

So how should we type then? No guidelines of course. It's up to you to risk the barriers of communcation that this medium offers. Emoticons are sometimes useful, but oftentimes faceless for it could never replace your actual expression.

But hey! that exact difficulties that we encounter with communication through chatting makes it more interesting and colorful. Humans are born to naturally adapt to communicate pretty well in ways that we might not imagine now but could be possible later.
